DESIGNING PATH OF A MASTERPIECE


Reinier de Jong founded Reinier de Jong Architecture & Design in late 2007 . Right from the start furniture designs like REK bookcase and KEER chair have seen considerable attention from professionals around the world. The prize winning entry in the prestigious Young Architects Competition organized by the Institute of Dutch Architects has also contributed to this.

Reinier de Jong designs in a variety of scales ranging from furniture designs up to housing projects. Such a wide range of scales ensures a fine balance between space, material and typology in each project. All designs are based on a rational foundation but have that special 'something': that poetic spark that sets it apart from the ordinary and the gimmicks.

Due to his work in different scales he has a broad knowledge on materials, their applications and production methods.
